Week 3
Diary of a Wimpy Kid is an excellent read for reluctant readers because it is funny and easy to relate to. But most importantly I feel the format is appealing to them for a variety of reasons. First, there are entertaining pictures that many novels do not have. Secondly, the text is formatted like a diary so it does not look like a heavy read. My students went wild to buy Diary of a Wimpy Kid at the book fair and were then passing it around the classroom. Overall, I would highly recommend this book for reluctant readers but higher readers as well. The purpose of this book is to entertain any type of reader the child is.

The Wimpy Kid does grab the attention of the reluctant reader and many others. I think it is a "hoot" Good recommendation
